Does Your Family Have Issues

Hey Everybody,

Last weekend at Believers was absolutely incredible! We started a series called Made for This. Throughout the next month, we'll go back to the Story of Creation to gain an understanding of what God created us for. What did He intend that we experience? It's hard to completely understand what we were made for because the world in which we live is so broken by sin that nothing in our current world functions as it was originally intended. This series will help us discern what the Bible says about our purpose BEFORE the Fall, before everything was tainted.

For example, we know that we were created for relationships. Adam was created first, and God said it was not good for him to be alone, so he created Eve. Both were made in the image of God. We're told that God brought the man and woman together and that they were united into one (Genesis 2:24). We're also told that they were naked and felt no shame (Genesis 2:25). There were no secrets, no shame, no brokenness, and no blame. Just oneness and unity in this relationship.

Does that sound like your family? Doesn't sound like mine, either. During the 24-hour prayer event last Thursday and Friday, I spent some time reading the prayer requests that had been put on the prayer wall. I read about marriages that are strained by infidelity, addiction, and even abuse. There were prayer requests for wayward children, aging parents, and marriages that are strained to the max. It was such a powerful experience to read and pray over all those requests, but it was also a little overwhelming. We are facing a lot of family issues!

After the Made for This series, we will start another series beginning on Mother's Day and concluding on Father's Day, which is all about our Family Issues. We want this series to be helpful and practical, speak to you, and equip you to navigate the family issues that you are facing. To design this series to be the most beneficial, we would love to hear from you. We've put together a survey where you can share the issues your family faces with us. Once we hear from you, our teaching team will create resources and messages that will truly help you. The survey will only take a few minutes to complete and is anonymous. You can find the survey here. Thanks for taking the time to share your issues with us.

We are so very grateful for all God is doing in our church family right now. Looking forward to seeing you and your guests THIS Sunday as we continue our Made for Thisseries. Did you know you were made for rest? Join us this week to learn more.

Blessings,

Pastor Jamey
