Hey everybody,
Easter is March 31st, only two weeks from this Sunday! That means The Great Easter Egg Challenge is only ONE week from this Sunday, March 24th!! We’ve done a variety of Easter outreaches through the years at Believers. The traditional Easter Egg hunts are fun; we’ve done the glow-in-the-dark hunt and even dropped 10,000 eggs from a helicopter. All of those have been fun in their own way, but THIS year, on Palm Sunday, our Easter Egg Hunt will be extraordinary…meaning, not your ordinary egg hunt.
For starters, lunch is on us. We will be serving Q Daddy’s BBQ sandwiches or chicken tenders with a side. If those options don’t work for you, feel free to bring your own lunch. Lunch will be served in The Commons. While families enjoy lunch together, The Great Easter Egg Challenge will be prepped.
This is not your ordinary egg hunt. This is an Easter Egg Challenge. Each participant will receive a Challenge Card, and then families will head out together to try to complete the challenge. Once the challenge is complete, they can head to the prize table to collect their candy. A few golden and silver eggs will also be hidden among the eggs. These special eggs can be exchanged at the prize table for prizes that the whole family will enjoy! There will be challenges for kids of all ages; we don’t want to leave anyone out.
These types of events are an excellent opportunity to show our community kindness and generosity. If even one family comes to this event and changes their mind about church and people of faith…then this will be a huge win. If someone comes and realizes that there is a community of Jesus-loving people right here that they are FOR them and their family…that could change everything for that family!
So, can you help make this event a success for those families? Here are some ways you can make a difference:
Invite people to attend. Share the event on social media, sure, but even better to call some friends and invite them to attend. It takes place on Sunday, March 24th, immediately following the second service.
Donate Candy. We are anticipating a LOT of kids, and they will all leave with a bag of candy once they complete the Egg Challenge. Can you donate a bag or two of candy? Bring your candy donation THIS Sunday; we will have collection boxes available.
Volunteer. It takes a LOT of hands to pull off an event of this magnitude. The more people we have helping, the better the event will be and the better the impression we will make on our community. Consider serving for a couple of hours of your day this way. Remember, serving is the path to greatness, according to Jesus. Let us know if you want to volunteer by following this link, and we will follow up to let you know how you can help. Thanks for being GREAT!
Give Generously to your church. There is no need to designate your giving; these types of events are included in our budget. While we plan for them, funding for these types of events is only possible when those who call believers home give generously and consistently. It’s easy to give at Believers; follow this link. It’s even better when you make your giving recurring. The consistency of your giving will help you to be as generous as you intend, and it will help us with forecasting and budgeting.
I’m looking forward to gathering with you THIS Sunday to continue our series, “Pray!”
Blessings,
Pastor Jamey
