An Open Invitation

What makes an invitation good?

A good invitation starts by doing good.

And here’s the best part—your invitation doesn’t even have to start with words! That’s encouraging, because sometimes finding the right words can feel like the hardest part of inviting someone to “come and see” for themselves.

What I didn’t mention is that when you do good, sometimes people end up inviting you. They see your love in action and want to know more!

Jesus put it this way:

"Let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." (Matthew 5:16)

I recently received an email from one of our partner schools—a school we’ve shown love and generosity to over the years. Part of it read:

“God is moving in this school, and some of that is attributed to the wonderful ways you have already served us here.”

Isn’t that amazing? We haven’t preached a sermon or handed out invitations—we’ve simply shown up, met needs, and offered love, concern, and support. And now, God is opening doors. In fact, the school asked if our church would come weekly to share a devotional from the Bible with their staff!

My response? YESSSS!!!

We’ve been building a reputation in our community, and God is blessing those efforts with opportunities to both show and share the love of Jesus.

So, keep doing good. I’m praying your acts of love create open doors for you to share the Good News—or at the very least, to invite someone to “come and see” for themselves.

Remember: doing good makes your invitation even better.

Blessings,
